A conceptual interior design for a restaurant in Gdańsk.
The interiors are designed to serve as the titular "intermission" within the culinary performance taking place in the restaurant.
During the breaks between the acts of this culinary drama, guests can actively participate in preparing the next scenes, thanks to an open kitchen accessible to them.
The core design concept was to create a dialogue between the culinary art and the city’s historic skyline—a majestic view further enhanced by theatrical navy-blue curtains adorning the windows.
The navy blue—evoking the seaside atmosphere—is balanced by fluid forms on the ceiling (in a shade one tone lighter) and light-reflecting mirror elements. Fine, shimmering dust on the granite floor evokes sand mingled with sparkling salt particles dancing together on the seabed.
The composition is completed by numerous light sources designed to imbue the entire space with a warm, inviting atmosphere.
